How To Commission A Pet Portrait
Step 1 To Commission a Portrait all you have to do is email your favourite Pet Photographs to me.
Or you may save them to a CD and send it in the mail. (A CD may be better if you have a large number of files or if you are unable to compress large files)
- Tell me what medium you would like me to use to create your portrait - pastel or oil.
-
Tell me what size you would like your pet portrait to be.
A common size for a single pet pastel portrait is 35x50cm unframed. I can do any size up to 70x100cm. If you are choosing an oil portrait give me a size and I will work on a size as close as possible. -
Tell me how many pets in the portrait
Step 2 I Will Send You A Free Quote.
Portrait size; the number of pets; and the medium (Pastel or Oils) are the main factors influencing portrait prices. Once these are known I will give you a customised firm quote in whatever currency you use.
Step 3 Deposit
Step 4 Commencement of Portrait
I will spend time with you (either in person, on the phone or by email) discussing which photograph best captures the unique character, personality and likeness to your pet. Together we will decide the portrait composition, size, background colour and framing styles. I believe that arranging professional framing allows pet owners to enjoy their portrait immediately.
Step 5 Time to Portrait Completion
A pastel portrait will take a minimum of two weeks plus one and a half weeks for framing depending on the number of commissions I have going at the time. An oil portrait may take four to six weeks to complete. If there is not sufficient time between commission order and that special occasion to have a portrait completed and framed, consider giving a Gift Certificate on the special day. This is like giving two gifts for the price of one!! The gift recipient is able to look forward to receiving the finished portrait after receiving the gift certificate.
Step 6 Approval Before Framing
I will email you an image of the finished portrait for your approval and make any final adjustments before I arrange framing. You have my personal guarantee that you do not have to accept a portrait unless you are 100% happy with it. Framing is optional but why not be easy on yourself and let me organise it for you. Once you have approved the portrait I will send you the final invoice for payment before I take the portrait to the framer.
Step 7 Delivery
Delivery is available within and around Brisbane CBD. Outside Brisbane a cost may be incurred for packaging and delivery.
